TIPS ON APPLYING FAKE TANNING LOTION
Being bored in self isolation, I decided to apply some fake tanner I had from last year. I looked up some tips on how to do it properly and it worked really well. Here are the tips:
But first, exfoliate.
To prevent your tan from looking splotchy, use an oil-free exfoliator (oil creates a barrier between your skin and the tanner that will leave your tan looking streaky.)
Shave with a new razor
Lather up dry areas prior
This was a game changer for me, apply an oil and fragrance free lotion to any dry areas that will absorb more colour like your hands and wrists and fingertips, backs of heels, elbows and knees Also, apply a moisturizer to your face 20 minutes prior.
Go over dry areas last
Before reaching getting more lotion, rub your hands over those dry areas as your hands will have the last amount of product on them.
Apply it in a cool, dry area
If you apply it somewhere warm, you can risk sweating, causing a streaky tan.
Wear gloves or a mit
Put those latex gloves you stocked up on to use and use them to apply your tanner. Work from your face down and at the end remove your gloves and do the tops of your hands
Create a claw with your fingers
Create a claw with your hand so the skin on your finger joints is stretch out. Double check you have no build up of product between your fingers.
